I am Coming Back! - James Ibori

James Ibori, Nigeria politician jailed 13 years for corruption and Money laundry few hours ago in the UK have started that he will be coming back and when he returns, some Nigerians will flee Nigeria.

Obviously referring to Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, former EFCC chairman (who investigated his case at the time standing his philosophy of “Everyone has a price” on its head by rejecting a $15 Million cash bribe offered by Chief Ibori) and saharareporters.com, an online investigative news site based in the US

The tweets were written a year ago while he was still in Dubai. Please see tweets below.

Former Nigeria governor James Ibori jailed for 13 years

Pronouncing the sentence, Judge Anthony Pitts said, I recognizes that there is another side to the man James Ibori but I am not the proper person to judge your achievements and failings as a governor, that is up to the people of Delta state"

He described Ibori life of corruption,  “the history of dishonesty, corruption and theft in the first indictment would alone attract the maximum or close to the maximum sentence allowed by law, but there is another indictment of serious fraud which you have plead guilty to”. He said if Ibori had fought the case to the end without pleading guilty  he would be looking at 24 years but will get a discount for pleading guilty.

Judge Pitts then sentenced Ibori to 13 years in prison. He deducts 645 days already spent in jail, and says Ibori would serve the rest in British jail. That means Mr. Ibori will be in prison for at least 7 years.

Previous trials of Ibori’s money-laundering associates and facilitators in the same courts had also dispatched to prison in the United Kingdom for at least five years Theresa Nkoyo, the thieving governor’s wife and former First Lady of Delta State; Ibori's sister, Christine Ibori-Ibie; his mistress, Udoamaka Okoronkwo-Onuigbo; and one of his London lawyers, Mr. Bhadresh Gohil.  In his mitigation plea, defence lawyer Nicholas Purnell, yesterday and today emptied a lot of the blame for the former governor’s crimes against the people of Delta State upon Mr. Gohil.

•Sambo: Attacks not religious

By  Ike Abonyi  and  Tokunbo Adedoja

The division in the dreaded Islamist sect Boko Haram deepened at the weekend with the murder of Abu Qaqa II, the spokesman of the militant group suspected to have taken over from Abu Qaqa I who was captured last January and has been in the custody of the State Security Service.

Abu Qaqa II was believed to have been killed on the instruction of the leader of the sect, Abu Shekau, for attempting to back out of their reign of terror.

He was said to have tried to denounce the sect after being trailed intensively by security agents, which forced him to change locations on several occasions.

The news of his killing coincided with the disclaimer by Vice President Namadi Sambo that the Boko Haram attacks have religious undertones.

Abu Qaqa II, whose real name is Mohammed Anwal Kontagora, was from Kontagora in Niger State. He adopted the name Abu Qaqa in February after the original Abu Qaqa, also known by many aliases, including Abu Dardaa, Mohammed Shuaibu and Abu Tiamiya, was arrested in January.

Boko Haram Welcome Niger Delta Militants’ Warnings

The recent uproar over the threat to the administration of the President of the federal republic of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Ebelemi Jonathan by the Islamic terrorist group, the boko haram, which resulted to counter threats / warnings from former Niger Delta militants challenging the Islamic group to consider a threat to the President of Nigeria a call to arms against the Islamic group  – has turned a new face.

Information available to 247ureports.com through sources within the ranks of the Islamic group indicates that the leadership of the group are welcoming of the reactions by the militants of the Niger Delta. According to the source who spoke on the telephone to our correspondent, the response by the militants of the creeks plays into the plans of the Islamic group who intends to bring about unrest in the major sensitive regions of the country. In particular, the Islamic group points to the OPC of the south west and the militants of the south south geo-political regions as integral parts of the Islamic groups broad agenda to destabilize the Jonathan administration and by extension the country.

Video Of Lady Caught With Guns In Bag Of Garri At Numan LGA, Adamawa

Who could she be transporting the weapons for?
How much could she have been paid to do this evil act?
Did she intentionally do this?
Was she used without her knowledge?
Was she threaten to do this?
Assuming she was aware and fully involved, is the army method of interrogation on the woman justifiable?

The video indeed exposes a lot about our security system

Short Story: Our Pastor is Hooked on Porn and Me

by ‘Seun Salami
These days, Pastor almost has to push people down when he is trying to transfer the anointing to them, unlike those days when he could throw it to them from as far as the altar.
My mouth has stayed opened in shock for about a minute now. My legs too. They are hanging on Pastor Ladi’s shoulders and I don’t seem to be able to close either of them because I can’t believe who just opened the door.
Everything seems to have run through my mind in that one minute, like a movie, one that must never be released.
I had been Pastor Ladi’s secretary for only three months when this rubbish began; after he singled me out of the church choir to become his secretary.
The first time I saw Pastor, on TV, I knew he was a true man of God; anointed and sent by God to deliver this generation from all oppression of the devil, the one they say wears Prada.
Pastor Ladi is a fine man of God. That must be said. He is the kind of man you pray to at least have as a concubine, if he can’t be your husband. And I’m not just referring to his amazing Italian suits and distinctive haircuts that you see on TV. I have seen what you have not seen.

The Other Side Of The “story From The Grave” Ogochukwu Cecilia Onuchukwu Rip - T

Written by Barr. Mrs Nnenna Okafor (PHD)

After much investigation and findings from both Onugu and Onuchukwu families, I decided to put together the facts and respond to the scurrilous allegations against this young man, Kevin, his dear wife Ogochukwu and the Onuchukwu family that resulted in the anonymous false and unfounded stories fabricated on websites / Facebook against these persons. I knew both Ogochukwu and Kevin before and during their marriage and was part of their support, and like a bigger sister to both of them during their marriage.

• Late Ogochukwu Cecilia Onuchukwu never and could not have written such false and fabricated lies against Kevin from the grave or before, dragging the names of their little children and husband to public debacle. • That the Facebook page was never posted by Ogochukwu nor supported by her in any form.
• That the publications and contents there-in were all false and baseless and Ogochukwu had no input to them
• Those individuals that sponsored these false / fabricated website publications are hiding under the name of late Ogochukwu to cause damage to the families. They should therefore come out with their names and contact information / proofs.
The real facts are stated below.

Cry From The Grave - Ogo's Story

The story you are about to read is very touching, my heart bled when I read it. Could this really be true? Can a husband be this heartless towards his wife? and so many questions.

I leave the answers to you. Please note the story is a bit lengthy and very sad.

My mum is crying. I can see her from here. She has aged since the last time I saw her.

Why does she look so old and why is she so thin? Can someone console her? Can someone make her stop crying?

I try to get up but I can’t. I try to reach for her, but I’m stuck where I am. It is very dark in here, and very cold, so very cold.

What am I doing here? Where is everybody? Where are my children? I begin to panic, to struggle; I want to get out of this dark room.

I can hear Uzo calling. She’s calling my name. Then, I see mum again. And I hear Uzo again. I don’t see my children. Where are my children? I can’t see beyond the walls of this dark and cold room.

Uzo calls again.

She sounds desperate to rouse me from my sleep. I am struggling to wake but I can’t. I open my eyes and they shut of their own accord.

I am powerless to keep them from shutting. And I find as soon as I stop struggling, my sleep becomes sweet repose. Suddenly I don’t want to wake from it just yet. It is peaceful.

I see mum again, and I see Uzo. Uzo keeps calling. She won’t stop calling. She is crying too, just like mum.

Can someone bring Kamsi and Amanda to me? Can someone bring my babies to me? I need to hug them, Kamsi, especially. Is he crying too and calling out for me?
Does he understand that I am gone? Kamsi will miss me.

He is a special child, you know; Kamsiyochukwu - my son and my first child.

Analysis: Facebook e-commerce: the next big thing? - Reuters

(Reuters) - A group of e-commerce start-ups, backed by some of the tech world's most pedigreed financiers, are betting that Facebook Inc can become an e-commerce powerhouse to rival Amazon.com Inc and eBay Inc.
As the world's largest social network hurtles toward a $5 billion initial public offering, it will come under more pressure from Wall Street to find new sources of profit growth and reduce its reliance on advertising, which accounted for 85 percent of its 2011 revenue.
Some entrepreneurs and investors increasingly think "f-commerce" - meaning e-commerce on Facebook - is the answer. Start-ups such as BeachMint, Yardsellr, Oodle and Fab.com are coming up with novel ways to persuade Facebook users to not just connect with friends on the social network, but to shop as well.
Backed by tens of millions of dollars from venture capital firms like Accel Partners and Andreessen Horowitz, and other big investors like Goldman Sachs, these start-ups are pushing out shopping apps, hosting online garage sales and testing out new business models on Facebook.
"E-commerce is a huge category with very strong tailwinds and it's a natural move for Facebook," said Sam Schwerin of Millennium Technology Value Partners, which owns Facebook shares and has a stake in BeachMint.

How To Conquer Job Aptitude Tests

With thousands of applicants waiting to get employed, recruiters now utilize aptitude tests to shortlist candidates. This does not only save them time, but also provides a cost-effective means of selecting the right candidates for the right jobs. With today’s technology, applicants do not have to converge at a place; you can write an aptitude test right within the confines of your home.

Aptitude tests are designed to assess your thinking performance, and your result will be compared to those of the control group so that the examiner can judge your abilities. As a candidate, this is the time to display your professional skills and make a good impression, as this will determine your movement to the interview stage.

Short Story: The Sex Life of A Lagos Mad Woman

by ‘Seun Salami
Only Rosco’s thing is sweeter than that Indomie and egg in this life, you have to believe me.
This place is not my house, but I live here.
It is not the type of place you want to call your home. Sometimes, I wonder how I have managed to call it mine since my uncle died, that should be five years ago, or six or seven.
It is a very smelly place, that’s what people who pass make you believe, because they are always covering their noses.
But me and the grown men who smoke Indian hemp every morning, every afternoon and every night in that corner, always wonder why they cover their noses.
This place is very cold, because there are no doors, no windows, nothing. But there is a roof. That’s where the cars pass; plenty during the day and very few at night. The other ones who don’t pass my roof usually pass my frontage and I love watching them, especially those ones that are as big as houses and you can’t see the people inside because the glass is always black like charcoal.

I’m not dead -2face

How many times can a man die? Yet Nigerian music frontrunner, 2face Idibia, according to some media report is dead, again

The singer who was in the news over last Valentine’s Day surprise proposal to long-time on-and-off girlfriend Annie Macaulay, all of a sudden became dead over several social media portals. For the fourth time in two years, fans, colleagues, friends and associates have had to deal with false death rumour of the multiple award winner.

The hoax again caught like a wildfire on Tuesday with same storyline as the previous death hoaxes [he died in a ski accident in a marina on Parrot Cay in the Turks and Caicos Islands] and yet people continue to propagate without verification.

Alarmists were already sending frenzying eulogies on twitter, Facebook and Blackberry Messenger about a man that is holidaying in America.

The musician responded to the news of his death saying he is surprised that people would be joking about his death.

“I might be the one to perform at their funeral,” he said.

Pension Scam: I Made $544, 000 Selling "Pure Water", Says Mrs Onyegbula

One of the accused persons standing trial in the N14.5 billion Police Pension scam, Mrs. Veronica Ulonma Onyegbula, has told investigators the $544,632 (about N82 million) found in one of her companies, Ulover International Resources Limited, was realized from selling pure water which the company produces.

Mrs. Onyegbula stated that the company which was situated in Umuahia, the Abia state capital belonged to her mother whom she said suffered stroke seven years ago and as a result of that made her a member of the board of directors to enable her handle the finances of the company.

Part of the items recovered by operatives of the anti graft agency during a search at the woman’s home was bank statements belonging to Ulover International Resources Limited which she stated is engaged in the production of pure water.

In her statement issued to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission as contained in the proof of evidence filed by the agency before the court where they are standing trial and dated 15th February, 2012, the accused stated that in the course of her job at the Police Pension Office, that she cashed a total of N14 billion on the instruction of the Permanent Secretary, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar Kigo and the Director, Mr. Esai Dangabar via cheques signed by both men.

She also stated that there was a subsisting Federal Government Circular which directed that withdrawals from the Police Pension Fund should be by way of e-payment to beneficiaries accounts but that despite this circular, that her bosses issued cheques in her name with which she accessed funds from the Police Pension Funds domiciled at a first generation bank, First Bank of Nigeria Plc.

She also stated that she handed over the monies as soon as she cashed the cheques from First Bank Plc.

The accused persons are scheduled to appear before the court again on Tuesday for their bail applications to be heard.

Bill Gates gives $12m grant to boost yam production

LAGOS  (AFP) – The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation gave a $12-million (nine-million-euro) grant Monday to a project aimed at boosting yam production and doubling the income of west African farmers of the crop.
It is the foundation’s largest grant for yam production anywhere in the world, said a spokesman of the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture in Nigeria’s southwest city of Ibadan.
The project’s initial focus is on 200,000 smallholder farm families in Ghana and Nigeria, 90 percent of whom cultivate less than two acres, the institute said in a statement.
Yam, a tuber plant, is a staple food in many tropical countries and provides the most important source of dietary calories in Nigeria and Ghana.
But a variety of pests and diseases have dramatically reduced harvests.
“Most farmers cultivate yams mainly for household consumption, but if we can increase yields, while also improving marketing conditions, then many of these farmers should be able to earn a steady income from growing yams,” institute director general Nteranya Sanginga said.

Giving Kids Medication with Syringe

Do you have troubles giving your infants the right prescribed dosage of syrup using conventional teaspoon?

Probably you are tired of your beauties spilling the drugs as you struggle to give it to them.

You can solve all of that now by simply using a syringe without needle to give your kids medication.

With the syringe you would not have to bother about the spillages because there will be none or if at all slightly minimal while you can be very sure of the prescribed quantity in ml using the millimeter calibration on the syringe as a guide.

It’s also convenient, neat and free from germs. Please buy a new syringe for strictly that purpose and do not share.

Ensure you wash the syringe thoroughly after every use, sterilize it at least once a day and store it properly.

My wife and I use this method in giving our beauty her medications and it works very well for us.

Cheers!

Businesses You Regretted Doing & The Ones You're Glad You Tried

Stumbled on this interesting topic in the business section on Nairaland and thinks aspiring entrepreneurs can learn from the poster story.

Businesses I regret? Sure I have had my fair share of some and I have also enjoyed some too.

aasog1: I have been doing some business since I graduated from Yabatech since 2005,
I have tried my hands on some couple handful of business. Some worthwhile, and with great ROI, worth going into. I hope we can share experiences and ideas, and here is mine!

1. I have tried Computer/Phone Accessories in Ikeja only to know if you dont have a Yahoo! Boys chain of suppliers, you would soon run bankrupt. This link was scarce to me, and besides, I dont know how on earth people like Slots and his ilks generate the kind of "grinistributorship Fees" running into $1,000,000 or more to pay Nokia, Blackberries and the likes to be direct suppliers of their products in Nigeria.

2. Went back to my profession as an engineer, managing my father's construction and engineering firm, only to discover Nigerians don't want to pay for quality. People just want to build, and only pay for the materials, and not the engineers. I love the job, but you sometimes feel like your wasting your life building peoples dreams, while you spend the next 4-6 months of your year working for 500k or less, while spending the remaining 6 months fighting dirty for another contract. And the contracts sometimes are so slow paced, you get irritated. Its a great job, but totally disastrous if you totally rely on it unless you work for J'Berger and other bigger construction companies.

LIST OF BUSINESSES YOU CAN START IN NIGERIA
